What a beautiful soft silky black velvet Art Deco evening dress.
Late 30's or very early 40's WWII Era. Slightly gathered bodice, puffed sleeves with shoulder pads, a gathered/ruched fitted front waist, and a flowing skirt. All of the red/pink/gun metal color sequin and beadwork is intact and was done by hand. These colors look fabulous on the black background. Fastens up the left side with a metal zipper, velvet covered buttons at the back of the neck, and an attached self-tighten belt at the back waist.

Superb condition like it was only worn once if at all! More lovely in person as I always have a difficult time photographing black colored clothing. I did not tighten the back belt for photos because the waist is much larger that my mannequin and the buckle would have ended up over at the side, not centered, looking a bit odd.
